HAMPTON PLANTATION STATE HISTORIC SITE - 15 miles southwest of Georgetown off U.S. 17, near McClellanville, state historic site of a Lowcountry rice plantation. HOBCAW BARONY VISITOR CENTER, U.S. 17, 35 miles south of Myrtle Beach, operated by the Belle W. Baruch Foundation, features exhibits focusing on local history and ecology. IMAX 3D THEATRE, Broadway at the Beach, U.S. 17 Bypass and 21st Avenue North, Myrtle Beach. Renovated in May, 2007, this 400-seat theater is six stories to accommodate the new 60-foot-tall and 83-foot-wide 3D movie screens. A 50-foot tower with a light show and 10 plasma-screen televisions showing movie trailers will be on the outside of the building. See the website for shows, times and prices.
